Toponymy Can Be a Great Hobby

Being a toponymist is a great deal of pleasure. All you have to do is work on how it was named. It has many boons on its side, one of them being able to know other cultures and languages.

By the way if you don’t have an idea on what toponymy is, let me explain. Toponymy is studying about the origin of a name. Not only origin, even you can learn about its meaning, usage and typology, and it is all the part of toponymy.

Toponymy is not similar to topology. Topology deals with study of geometry and metrics in mathematics. As it is part of mathematics, it is really a complex and difficult thing to deal with. I have never known any person who is dealing with topology as hobby. Where as toponymy can be dealt as a hobby. Believe me, if you are in search of a decent hobby, then toponymy will be a good choice.
