Foods to Avoid to Prevent the Growth of the Yeast

The yeast infections are mostly caused because of various reasons like changes in the diet, lack of cleanliness, because of illness like cancer, diabetes etc, because of stress, due to hormonal changes during the pregnancy period, in infants due to diaper rashes, because of antibiotics etc.

If a person has yeast infection and if he wants to get cured i.e., for stopping the growth of the yeast, he/she should prevent the diets which support the growth of the yeast. Some of the foods which are used to prevent the growth of the yeast are:

  • Main and the fore most thing one should avoid if he/she is suffering from yeast infections are the sweets. The sweets will support the yeast to grow quickly.
  • Stay away from the beverages like coffee, alcohol, soft drinks which support the growth of the yeast more faster.
  • Avoid the processed foods like soups .
  • Avoid usage of excess fruit juices and the fruits during the yeast infection.
  • Avoid the bakery foods. Avoid baked items like pastries, cookies, cakes and also avoid the sweets which contain lot of sugar.
  • Avoid legumes like peas and beans which are sweet.
  • Avoid all sweetened dairy products like cottage cheese, butter milk etc.
  • Avoid the condiments and the sauces which will make the growth of the yeast faster.
  • Avoid eating vegetables like mushrooms and beetroots.

One has to change the food habits for preventing the excess growth of the yeast in the body. Generally, food items which consists of sugar like dry fruits etc., are mostly avoided because sugar helps in the growth of the yeast.
