How Marijuana Abuse Effects Learning and Social Skills?

Abuse of marijuana highly impacts learning abilities and social skills. It may lead to problems in their daily lives.

According to National Institute on Drug Abuse’ s survey and study, users’ ability to learn and remembering what they learned and function in society, can be effected by the heavy use of marijuana.

Using heavy marijuana can cause these effects:
Depression, anxiety and personality disorder can be caused by heavy marijuana.

Ability to learn and remembering information can be compromised by using marijuana. This may lead in reduced development of the intellectual, job and social skills.

User’s ability to learn and remember can be effected by the heavy use of marijuana for days or even even weeks after abstinence from smoking.

Effects on students:

  • lower grades can be caused by daily use of marijuana, when compared to the other students who do not take marijuana or any drugs.
  • It harms significantly the skills related to memory, attention, and learning, even after 24 hours of smoking
  • Getting problem in maintaining and shifting attention.
  • Ability to register, organize and use information can be effected by this marijuana.
  • Memory and ability to recall words from the list can be effected by marijuana, even after a week of quitting it.

Effect on workers performance:

  • Absences, tardiness, accidents, workers’ compensation claims can be increased due to marijuana abused workers.
  • It shows adverse effects on cognitive abilities, career status, social life, and physical and mental health.

According to NIDA, intellectual level at all time can be effected by marijuana use. To avoid these problems, quitting the habit of using marijuana is the better solution.
