They contain hydrogen peroxide and phenol. If the glow sticks breaks, then it is advisable to keep away this mixture from skin and prevent accidental ingestion. Chemical of the glow sticks causes skin irritation, swelling if it breaks on the skin. Sometimes, it causes vomiting and nausea.
Glow sticks should be disposed properly after use, so that they are not hazardous to the environment.
Though there are many dangers, glow sticks should be used in limit. It is better for people and environment.
