Types of Wedding Invitations

A wedding invitation is a formal letter asking the recipient to attend a wedding. It is typically written in third-person language and mailed or delivered five to eight weeks before the wedding date. Wedding invitations set the theme of the entire wedding with the style and design indicating to your guests what to expect on the day. However, there are many types of wedding invitations are there:

Digital Printing: This is the simplest and economical form of custom invitations. Here, you choose a design either online or in the store, customizing the text, fonts and layout as well as the card style and paper types and having them printed. The printing appears as a flat image. The biggest advantage from this is anything can be printed on the invitation.

Engraved wedding invitations: It is a type of printing used for the most type of formal wedding invitation. In this method, heat is used to raise the ink above the paper. In this copper plate is also used in order to print those words on the card. This is so expensive.

Thermo-graphed wedding invitation: This is similar to the engraving printing wedding invitation but not expensive. In thermography, ink is mixed with small dry particles which when put to paper, gave a raised look like engraving.

Letter press this is a beautiful and traditional process and done in Gutenberg style press where design is laid out in a mold and then pressed against a thick paper for engraving but this requires a lots of hands-on work and can become costly.

Handmade wedding invitations: These are suitable for small or informal gatherings. These invitations are written by hand usually on plain or white letter sheets.

Foil stamping, Lithography or offset, embossing, calligraphy, Ink color, contemporary styles are some of the types of wedding invitations.
