Detection of Child drug Abuse

Administration of prohibited substances to enhance athletic performance represents an emerging medical, social, ethical and legal issue. In order of that many people are addicted to drugs. Traditional controls are based on direct detection of substances or their catabolites. However out-of-competition doping may not be easily revealed by standard analytical methods. Alternative indirect control strategies are based on the evaluation of mid- and long-term effects of doping in tissues. Drug-induced long-lasting changes of gene expression may be taken as effective indicators of doping exposure. To validate this approach, we used real-time PCR to monitor the expression pattern of selected genes in human haematopoietic cells exposed to nandrolone, insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) or growth hormone (GH) and other medications like athlete drug testing, urine and saliva drug tests are existed.

Every parent adores their child and they don’t want to suspect the drug abuse in their child. But they should be alert about their child and it is essential to discover, if there is any sign found of drug abusing. The following are few signs for drug abuse that has to be detected in the child.

  • The child may drop in grades of education and other achievement levels.
  • There will be lack of attachment with the parents or with the other people.
  • They will unusual laziness and could not perform any work properly.
  • They will be difficulty to sleep, awake at unusual times.
  • Smell of substance on breath, body or clothes.
  • There will be change in attitude.
  • They wish to be isolated in their room.
  • They blame others for irresponsible behavior

The drug abusing among adolescent was at all time high. Parents should have the prudence of securing their child. Among all, alcohol is the major addictive chemical.  The main cause of the child abusing is the sociological and psychological environment they grow. The children follow the pattern set by the adults.  The underage child ingestion is an illicit. The impulsivity of the child and their developing brain makes any potentially drug hazardous. The above said are the child drug abuse detection methods that you can detect from your child and prevent them with drug testing kits.
