Unlike all other workouts, yoga has unique features and qualities and they are valid only when it is practiced in the environments which are meant for yoga practice. Even though yoga classes do have a lot of people who are doing practice beside and around us, they all practice it in a peaceful manner such that one will not get disturbed due to the others practice. Moreover, if we observe the environment in any yoga class, it is so settled and remain undisturbed throughout our sessions.
The main motive behind creating such environment is to provide the practitioners a sense of calmness and coolness which helps them to focus more on what they are doing. However, when it comes to the yoga practice at home, people are often confused where to do and where not to do. For them who have gardens and other natural places, it is obvious that they will select those places for yoga practice. But when it comes to interior practice, it is often important to make sure that we are creating such environment in the room, so that one should feel comfortable about their practice. Let us see the places which are not good for practicing yoga.
The rooms which are poorly ventilated, with poor lighting and air rotating facility are not suitable. The room should be spacious enough and should not contain heavy furniture and other things which make it messy. Choose a room where children will not visit more frequently and where there are less chances that other family members will come and sit. Frequent visiting of people will create a kind of messy environment that will distract you from the exercise, and once your concentration is lost, you cannot have good results even though you are doing it for hours. One such room which is free from furniture and offers a pleasant atmosphere is the bedroom. Since it contains only the cot and the wardrobe it gives you enough space to do the postures and poses as required. Make sure that the temperature of the room is also moderate, so that you should not feel either too hot or too cold.
