Foods You Should Avoid While You are Practicing Yoga

Yoga gives a lot of importance to diet because the presence and condition of the body depends on the type of the food we eat. A well-balanced food and proper diet helps body develop positive thinking whereas some foods will create negative thinking which affects the body and mind. A yogic diet is one which follows five principles of Yoga. You can get many benefits from this diet even you don’t practice yoga.

The yogic diet encourages the consumption of Sattvic foods also known as vegetarian foods. This diet is believed to be delivering the peace of mind and multiple health benefits to the body.

The foods which are categorized under Rajasic are neither beneficial nor harmful to our health, body and mind but do negatively affect our mood and outlook on our life and can also lead to aggressive behavior and pessimistic thinking.

The foods which are categorized under Tamasic are good for our health but are extremely harmful and heavy to our health, body, and mind whenever they are done much.

When you practice Yoga, you should avoid such as eggs, meat, and fish, artificial, processed and junk foods, canned food, except naturally canned fruits and tomatoes, animal fats, margarine, and poor quality oils, factory farm dairy products, onions, garlic, and other over spiced foods, fried food, white flour and white sugar, artificial sweeteners, old, stale, over and reheated food, alcohol, tobacco, and other stimulates, artificial beverages, tap water, microwaved and irradiated food, genetically engineered food, foods eaten in a disturbed environment or eaten too quickly,

The above foods are comes under the categories of Rajasic and Tamasic foods.
