In U.S the United States Department of Veterans (VA) is government run military veteran benefit system. It was cabinet level status and responsible for administering progress of veterans benefits for veterans, their families and survivors. The benefits may be disability compensation, pension, education, home loans, life insurance, vocational rehabilitation, survivors’ benefits, medical benefits and burial benefits. This system was administered by the United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Previous it was called the Veterans Administration, also called the VA, which was established October 25, 1988, to consolidate and coordinate government activities affecting war veterans. The VA incorporated the functions of the former U.S. Veterans’ Bureau, the Bureau of Pensions of the Interior Department and the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers.
At present government allocate more than $70 billion per year and now approximately 230,000 people using hundreds of VA medical centers, clinics and benefits offices. And it is single payer government runs health care system and the federal government’s second largest department then Department of Defense.
