Most of the Japanese auto manufacturing companies are finding their market in US. They are extending the previous versions as well as launching new models in US. Because of the increase in the consumer needs, many of the auto manufacturers are finding the US market as the best auto market in the world for selling their products.
Coming to the famous Japanese auto maker Toyota, although it had been suffering because of many recalls, it has a good market in North America for the auto Toyota Prius. Toyota Prius is considered as the best selling hybrid in North America and same is the case even when we consider the world. It has successfully completed its ten years in U.S. market and even a much longer time in Japan.
The advancement of the sales is in such a way that across the world the sales were around 1.8 million units and the sales in US was about half of the total cumulative sales across the world.
Because of the advantages like releasing lower emissions of CO2 when compared to the other vehicles and it also offers better gas mileage. But when we compare the original Prius with the advanced Prius, it was not effective. The original Prius was the four door sedan which requires more fuel and even it is slow when compared with the present version. But after the release of new hatchback version in 2004, the sales saw an increase. The improved efficiency and better dynamic performance were offered in the third version in 2007, the sales increased to half a million. Now, the company is planning to release the new version in 2012 with plug- in lithium ion batteries.
Prius the hybrid car made a start for the cars moving towards the field of less emissions with less fossil fuel usage, and these cars are even turning towards electrification which makes the environment much more cleaner by using the renewable source of energy for transportation to be done effectively.
