The main concept of angling involves attaching a hook to the end of the line. This hook has a bait fish or a lure, which is used to attract the fish. As the fish is attracted by the bait, it comes towards the reel, which makes it easy to catch the fish. This method of fishing is mainly used by recreational fishermen. This fishing technique is also recognized as a sport and many competitions are also held.
There are different types of angling methods. They are line fishing, angling with a rod and other angling methods. These methods are popular in various countries of the world. These are used to catch various varieties of fishes and in various water bodies, such as, sea water, fresh water, inland water, ponds, etc.
Usage of bait is an essential part of the different techniques in fishes. Olden fishing practices used live baits such as leeches, worms, minnows, flies, etc. as baits. But in the modern fishing methods these are replaced by artificial baits, such as, plastic spoons, artificial minnows, artificial worms, jigs, lures, etc. Usage of fishing lights is a new trend, which is mostly used in modern fishing. Fishing light is an underwater light, and is not bait, but it perform the same function of attracting a fish as of bait. Among the various fishing lights, green fishing light works best in attracting fishes.
